Mastersign Targets

Multiple series of A4 paper targets for training, competition, zeroing, and more.

After I built the bullet trap, I naturally needed a few paper targets. I know I went a bit overboard, but there was still an idea that wanted to be realized – different target shapes, various sizes and markings, …

I tried to bring some order to the variety and grouped the sheets into series. Now each target template also has its own uniq identifier.

Overview

You can simply download a PDF with all paper targets if you’re not only interested in selected series.

And if you like my paper targets, maybe you want to support me in buying the next bin of pellets.

A Series

The A series is intended for universal targets. The mark consists of a red dot the size of a projectile, one or multiple circles, and horizontal and vertical aligned lines as orientation. On the right side a centimetre rule is included.

B Series

The B series, like the A series, is intended for universal use. The mark consists of a red dot the size of a projectile, one ore multiple circles, and horizontal and vertical aligned lines as orientation. Additionally the columns and rows of the target marks are labelled for better communication and documentation. On the right side a centimetre rule is included.

C Series

The C series, like the B series, is intended for universal use with support for improved communication and documentation. The mark consists of a red dot the size of a projectile, one ore multiple circles, and horizontal and vertical aligned lines as orientation. The columns and rows of the target marks are labelled. Additionally there are smaller target marks placed in the space between the main marks.

D Series

The D series is intended for practice. The target mark consists of a 2mm black dot, one circle, and relatively short lines for orientation. The lines are arranged diagonally to prevent them from being obscured by the crosshairs. Columns and rows of the target marks are labelled for better communication and documentation.

N Series

The N series is intended for precision practice The target mark consists of a black 2mm circle in the centre, and a black outer circle. Columns and rows are labelled for communication and documentation.

E Series

The E series is designed to resemble the hit zone of collapsible targets. The target mark consists solely of a red filled circle. To avoid distraction no other labels or markings are placed. The protection zone on the outer edge is shaded in light gray instead of colours.

Z Series

The Z series is intended for precision practice The target mark consists solely of a red dot the size of a projectile. The layout is optimized for a maximal number of target marks on one sheet.

P Series

The P series is designed for point‑based shooting. The target marks consist of a red dot the size of a projectile surrounded by circles spaced 5mm apart. The gaps between some of the circles are filled with gray to make orientation easier at longer distances. Diagonal lines further aid orientation. The rings on the horizontal and vertical axes are labelled with their corresponding point values.

G Series

The G series is designed for making adjustments with added horizontal and vertical orientation. It can also help gauge wind influence more accurately. The target markers consist of a red dot the size of a projectile and a black circle. Each marker is positioned at the centre of a 1‑centimetre grid. For communication and documentation purposes, the target markers are numbered.

K Series

The K series is an extension of the G series and is likewise intended for making adjustments with added horizontal and vertical orientation. The target markers consist of a red dot the size of a projectile and a black circle. Each marker is positioned at the centre of a 1‑centimetre grid. In addition, diagonal crosses are placed in the four quadrants of the grid. These can be used as extra reference points after an adjustment has been carried out. For communication and documentation purposes, the target markers are numbered.

M Series

The M series is intended for checking the precision of an air rifle. The reference unit is a minute of angle (MOA). If the centre of the impact point falls within one minute of angle, the rifle is considered precise. The target marks in the M‑Series consist of a red‑filled circle with white diagonal alignment lines. The size of the marks is determined by the shooting distance and is calculated from the corresponding angular opening plus the projectile’s diameter. Consequently, for the evaluation all shot holes must lie completely inside the target mark. The target marks are arranged in columns, each column being calculated for a different shooting distance.

S Series

The S series includes a range of miscellaneous printable templates, each designed for a specific, specialized purpose.

E. g., long‑range zeroing and precise adjustment of a sighting optic.
